You can feel the surface the snow under your feet, almost as if walking barefoot—without cold toes or sharp stones pricking your heels. In the dark, our senses naturally sharpen to perceive our surroundings.
What to expect on this walk
At the start of the journey, we awaken our senses to observe the forest and settle into the forest’s embrace. When we tune into nature’s frequency, we might catch a glimpse of a woodland elf or hear the wingbeats of a mystical bird. Towards the end of the walk, we’ll hear tales of Koli’s sagas, wizards, and forest spirits. Along this nature-focused adventure, we might identify animal tracks in the snow, gaze at the stars, or admire the moonlit, frost-covered forest sparkling like diamonds.
When departing from Jerontie part of the route follows a lit ski trail, offering views to Koli Hill’s slopes under the evening sky. On the way back, we explore the natural darkness of the forest along an unlit trail. We'll have few torches with us in case needed. The route is easy and safe to traverse, making it ideal for a serene winter evening outing after sunset.
