The moment the boat leaves the dock, everyday life fades away, and we follow only the soft rhythm created by wind, water and waves.

What to expect

This introductory course is designed for beginners who want to explore the basics of sailing safely. During this short session, you will learn the fundamentals: reading the wind and understanding its effect, handling the ropes, sails and the boat, and practising safe behaviour on the water. No previous experience is required, but participants should be atleast 15 years of age.

Your sailing instructor

Your instructor is an authorized sailing teacher by Purjehduksenopettajat PORY ry, with years of sailing and teaching experience on the Archipelago Sea and the Atlantic. This course is run by our sailing school Allure Sailing.

What to bring

Wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. It’s often cooler on the water, so pack a windproof layer. Shoes should have light soles that won’t mark the deck.

• Duration: approx. 4 hours

• Group size: 2–5 people

• Life jackets: Provided for all participants

• Languages: Finnish & English

• Parking: Parkin lot at the beginning of Rantatie, where you'll have a short walking distance to the harbour.

Weather conditions: Light winds may require short stretches under motor, allowing you to still practise sails and feel the wind. If winds exceed safe limits, the skipper may reschedule the course; a new time will be offered when possible.

After booking: You will receive a welcome letter with detailed instructions for arrival and clothing.
