Step aboard and experience the magic of sailing on Pielinen.
The moment the boat leaves the dock, everyday life stays behind. Out on the water, we follow only the soft rhythm created by wind, waves and the spacious calm of the lake.
Your skipper & guide
Your skipper is a certified sailing instructor. During the trip you can, if you wish, try handling the sails or steering the boat under the instructor’s guidance. The pace is relaxed and unhurried — and with a livelier breeze, joyfully fast.
A new perspective on the landscape
From the water you’ll see the landscape just as early travellers did when they arrived at Koli by boat from Joensuu or Vuonislahti. The hills rise ahead — grand and rugged, yet gentle and familiar — viewed from a slightly new angle.
The atmosphere of each trip is shaped by wind, water and the changing weather. The breeze may be strong or soft, the lake restless or mirror-still. Every sailing moment has its own tone. We don’t promise perfect silence or perfect wind — only a small journey shaped by the conditions of the day.
What to bring
Sailing suits everyone, including beginners who want to try sailing safely or simply enjoy the open lake and its quiet sounds. No previous experience is required.
Wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. It’s often cooler on the water, so pack a windproof layer. Shoes should have light-colored soles that won’t mark the deck.
